The project
The Village of Port Williams needed a modern municipal website that would make community information easier to find while also being straightforward for staff to manage. The project involved more than a visual refresh: the existing content had to be reorganized and migrated into a cleaner WordPress structure, with practical tools for routine municipal updates.
What we delivered
Mumford Connect redesigned and redeveloped the site in WordPress, migrating the existing content into a responsive, easier-to-navigate website. The content structure was built around the information residents and visitors regularly need, including community information, news, public notices, documents, events, municipal services and local facilities.
The project also included online mapping, improved site search, hosting, domain management, staff training and ongoing support. Search behaviour was refined so useful page and document matches are easier to surface, while the WordPress administration area gives staff a practical way to maintain day-to-day content without needing to edit templates or code.
A municipal site that remains manageable
Municipal websites change constantly. Notices are added, events pass, documents are replaced and service information needs to stay current. The Port Williams build therefore focused as much on maintainability as appearance. Reusable content structures and familiar WordPress editing tools make routine updates easier while preserving a consistent public-facing layout.
The result
The completed website provides Port Williams with a cleaner, mobile-friendly public information site and a more structured foundation for future content. It combines the public-facing redesign with the less visible work required behind the scenes: migration, search, content management, mapping, hosting, training and ongoing technical support.
